TURKEY LEG HUT CO-FOUNDER LYNDELL PRICE CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH BAR FIGHT

Turkey Leg Hut co-founder Lyndell “Lynn” Price has been accused of assaulting an unidentified man during a bar fight earlier this year, according to court documents obtained by the Houston Chronicle. The misdemeanor charge adds to a slew of legal issues facing Turkey Leg Hut’s former co-owner.

According to the publication, the fight occurred just a few days before Nakia Holmes, his former business and life partner, fired Price and several other employees in February.

According to the Houston Chronicle, a warrant was issued for the former co-owner’s arrest in connection with a February 1 fight at the Tipsy Lounge, located just down the street from Turkey Leg Hut in Third Ward. He was charged last week with misdemeanor assault in connection to the brawl, which police said left a man unconscious and with a knee injury.

Wearing a shirt from his latest business venture, the Oyster Hut, Price appeared in the County Criminal Court at Law #12 on Tuesday, April 23, with his attorney Robert Alton Jones. Jones told visiting Judge Robin Brown that the fight “was not as it seemed,” but Price’s full position remains unclear. Among Price’s many legal issues, the Turkey Leg Hut declared bankruptcy in March, and Price remains entangled in an ongoing dispute with former business partner and Bar 5015 owner Steve Rogers. Price also remains embroiled in a dispute with former employees at the Oyster Hut. Several employees accused the owner of not paying staff, stealing recipes, and ousting key colleagues. According to the Houston Chronicle, the judge set Price’s bail at $1,000 on the misdemeanor charge and ordered him to stay away from the Tipsy Lounge.
