Bone broth may be considered one of the most nutrient dense food sources and has multiple health benefits for a range of diet related conditions. Bone broth is derived from the slow cooking of animal bones, in particular, chicken frames and feet, beef and lamb bones. Animal bones are very high in a wide range of vitamins and minerals including Collagen which is our most prolific protein within our bodies and found in bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, blood vessels and teeth. Moderate amounts of calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and zinc can also be found, along with amino acids such as glycine which can benefit central nervous system health and have a positive impact on sleep and memory. Adding a good mix of vegetables, herbs and spices to your bone broth will also significantly increase the nutrient density and provide a general tonic that is useful for general inflammation, immune health, cardiovascular health, diabetes and a host of other diet related conditions.
