PEOPLE ARE PISSED AT COSTCO OVER THE COST OF THIS NEW SANDWICH

One of the many allures of the Costco food court is the bang you get for your buck. Where else can you get a ¼ lb. hot dog and a 20-ounce soda for just $1.50?(Well, aside from Sam’s Club.) And that’s exactly the reason why a particular menu item has food court customers in a frenzy.

As Foodbeast reported that earlier this week, a thread surfaced on Reddit with a picture of the food court menu at the Costco in Lynwood, Washington. The menu had a new addition, the Roast Beef Sandwich.

Although the new menu item most certainly looks delicious, it’s the price listed in big, blue letters that was the issue. At a whopping $9.99, the sandwich is one of the priciest options on the menu, and it doesn’t appear to be that substantial in size.

Several users on Reddit pointed out that the new Roast Beef Sandwich is the same price as the food court's pizza. "Yeah that's a little pricey... Same price as a whole pizza," one user wrote.

Another Redditor wasn't too confident in how long the sandwich will stay on the menu, writing"$10 for a single-serve, individual item doesn’t seem to fit in well with the rest of their lineup. I would expect this to be a poor seller and get scratched from the lineup quickly. Especially considering this is more than 2x the cost of the turkey/pesto."

Although the price tag certainly has some people upset, the sandwich is allegedly selling out at some Costco locations. TikTok account @costcoaisles shared a short video announcing the sandwich and was met with questions about its taste and size. They responded, stating that they didn't get a chance to sample the Roast Beef Sandwich since it was already sold out at their local Costco.

Deep down, we can't help but wonder if the $10 sammie is Costco's payback for the Forbidden Glizzy.
